The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to be patient amidst the suffering and harsh economic realities which has bedeviled the Nation for so long.
This is following incidences of violent reactions reported to have taken place in some part of the country yesterday the 15th of February 2023.
The reactions which was reported to have erupted as a result of refusal of commercial bank and some business entities to accept the suspended old Naira notes resulted to further hardship to citizens and forced closing of some banks and businesses following destruction of properties belonging to commercial banks by angry mobs.
"There have been reported pockets of skirmishes in Benin City and other places arising from the recent scarcity of cash. I plead with Nigerians to be patient; help is coming. The suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people.
May we, for the sake of our nation, take such anger to the polls on February 25. That is the only way to end the present suffering", Mr Obi twitted.
Meanwhile, the federal government in bid to douse the tension and forstal further degeneration of the incidence this morning said they will recirculate the old ₦200 denomination and allow usage till April 10 2023.
